In Memory of:
Rolande Paula Brodeur
The French people of Gascongne first used the name Brodeur in the Medieval Era. It was a name for a maker of embroidered tapestries having derived from the Old French word Brodeur, which means embroiderer. First Found in Gascony, an area of Southwest France bordering Spain, that was part of the "Province of Guyenne and Gascony". Prior to the French Revolution, where the family was established in early times. Rolande's great Grandmother and Grandfather immagrated to Canada.
Born in St. Hycinthe, Canada Rolande was one of (8) Siblings.
The family grew up on a tomato farm and workedvery hard. They were given 2 slices of white bread and they were to use this to put the tomato's that they hand picked between them. (No Condiments!) They went to school while their father was on the road selling pickles. Rolande was a "fiesty" little girl as you can see in her photo's. They were a very happy family. Pepe' lived until he was 98 Years Old and was in great health most of his life. Meme' on the other hand got colorectal cancer at a very young age and lived until she was 67. Back then they did not have treatment and testing as they do now and she received high doses of radiation that made her even sicker than the disease itself.
"Blessed is the servant who loves his brother as much when he is sick and useless as when he is well and can be of service to him. And blessed is he who loves his brother as well when he is afar off as when he is by his side, and who would say nothing behind his back he might not, in love, say before his face."
-St. Francis of Assisi
